Frequently Asked Questions about C3
You're
kidding, right? You can't be serious about this convergence end of the world
crap.
A: Yes and no. We definitely are an unserious bunch. In fact, the less
serious, the better. At the same time, there is a core of meaning behind
what we're up to that couldn't be more serious. More about that later.
Secondly, "convergence" and "end of the world" just don't belong in the same
sentence. "End of the world as we know it", even if that phrase is now a
cliché (thanks, REM), is closer to the target. The idea is not that
everything changes, though it does over time, but that our perception of
reality, of ourselves and our place in the scheme of things, changes, and
changes radically.
Q: So just how fast does this change happen?
A: No way to know, of course. For the sake of drama, of communicating
the impact of Convergence, we suggest it's a very fast change and that it
affects all people. In fact we don't necessarily believe that. The change
has, in the opinion of many, already begun - perhaps began long ago - and
is
growing steadily as a thought, a vision, among the human race. The
thing that excites us and motivates us is the possibility that we're
reaching critical mass with this idea of species-wide transformation, and
that at some point the momentum of the idea becomes unstoppable,
irresistible.
Q: Just what "idea" are you talking about?
A: We don't know if the answer to that is even knowable in advance. The
message we've had from prophets and sages through the ages is, it's possible
to literally POP into a new state of awareness which is so much bigger,
broader, and higher in perspective, that our previous sense of ourselves, of
reality, of everything, now looks like that of a worm inching its way over
the dirt. As primitive beings, we have almost no sense of the next
dimension, of altitude, of what it's like to be an upright being looking
across vistas, with everything in sight now part of a larger grid or
pattern. As we are now, we can't see the Big Picture, the Grand Pattern.
When we change, when our "vibration level" shifts suddenly to a much higher
plane, then everything takes on a finer grain. It all becomes clear and
understandable. Right action is then possible.
One way to think of the "idea", the change, is to imagine the human race
suddenly and dramatically increasing in intelligence and in its willingness
and inclination to cooperate to achieve universal peace, harmony, and
prosperity. The species finds it uniformly treasures life in all of its
forms, and turns its attention and energies to finding ways to practice
compassion, protection and preservation for all life forms and for the
ecology which sustains it. Rather quickly we solve the age-old issues which
have plagued us: poverty and over-population; greed and irrational need for
power and control over others; sloth, indolence, and the resulting
dependencies and hierarchies they produce; intolerance and aggression toward
others. Solutions to the problems which increasingly threaten our existence
as a species. Q: Isn't that all just hippie pie-in-the-sky wishful
thinking? Get real. A: Reality is and always has been what we make it, at
least personally and socially. To ignore the fact that we have the power to
envision a saner reality for the human race is perhaps the ultimate
expression of irresponsibility. It's not a message most of us want to hear
or think about ... it imposes too great a burden on us, or so we imagine.
But there is nothing more real than hunger and poverty and oppression.
Accepting that kind of post-apocalyptic vision for our species is an
indulgence of the first order. It's accepting the End Game for the species,
running wildly from all efforts to take responsibility for ourselves. So
sure, you can choose to see this vision as pie-in-the-sky wishful thinking,
or you can choose to see it as the opposite. It's projecting a vision for
the future which is better than the one we collectively have accepted for
ourselves at this moment. Why not imagine it's possible to improve? To fail
to do so means we accept decline and deterioration and death. Not just for
ourselves individually (yes, that), but for all of our loved ones, and
ultimately for the species. It's time for the human race to grow up. We
can and we must do better than that. How? It's simple and painless: Believe
in a possible transformation of the human species, then work toward that
goal. Sure, you're responsible for cleaning the cobwebs from your own mind
and cleaning your own nest. Then Celebrate it wildly and loudly! Have fun
and communicate that to everyone you can. Join in the party, not a political
party, not a "it's all going down the tubes" party, but a "we are finally
about to get it right!" party! See you at the celebration of the New Age.
Q: Suppose I'm willing and able to do that. I'm just one person - I can't
really have any impact on something so big as the salvation of the whole
species, can I. So why bother? A: The conditions around us, our Reality,
is really an aggregate of all of the personal realities we humans indulge
in. Every mind, including yours, contributes to that aggregate. Whether you
choose to believe we can do better than we're doing affects me, and all
others. What I choose to believe (and act on) affects you and all others. We
are in this lifeboat together, like it or not. As we collectively begin to
bend our minds and will toward solutions and sanity, then solutions and
sanity will manifest. You are, like it or not, an important player in this
scenario. So adapt a positive attitude instead of a negative one. Choose to
believe in life and transformation instead of death and deterioration. You
can make that choice. As enough of us do so, the tide turns. So c'mon, don't
be a grouch. Join the C3 party and enjoy the ride! |
